Steven Longstaff, founder of Moraira Build, has been constructing properties for over 25 years, first in the UK, and for the last 14 years in Spain. We employ our own builders who are permanent members of the Moraira Build team and not sub-contractors. We use trusted plumbing and electrical partners and are on hand to project manage each and every aspect of your build.

The Process

The building process can seem quite daunting in Spain, trying to understand the rules and regulations can be confusing. Moraira Build are able to help clients from start to finish, whatever their project might be.

Here are some of the aspects Moraira Build would guide you through based on an entire new build:
Sourcing and buying a plot → Consulting with architect and technico to obtain basic and full execution project → Liaising with the local town hall to obtain building license → Full construction from foundations up → Liaising with architect and technico throughout project → Project managing 1st and 2nd fix plumbing and electrics → Sourcing of tiles, fixtures and fitting → Basic landscaping.

We are also able to recommend interior designers, landscape gardeners, security experts and anything else clients might need to complete their new dream home.

Steven personally works closely with clients every step of the way, and is always on hand to answer any questions and solve any issues that might arise.

We purchased a villa in Benitachell that had an underbuild which had been partly converted. The original conversion left a lot to be desired. So, we undertook the services of a local architect and we agreed on a plan that gave us a conversion offering self contained, private accommodation. Our requirements threw up some tight dimensions in order to conform with building regulations.

So now we have a plan - who do we get to undertake the construction? We obtained several quotes. One from a contractor we had used before and were very happy with the work they had carried out. Unfortunately, there was a language problem and on a reform of this size we recognised that good communication was going to be essential. We decided after consulting with Steven, and seeing some of his previous undertakings, that Steven and his team of builders was possibly the best way forward. For us this was a step into the unknown as we had never used the services of Moraira Build.

Work commenced. We were more than satisfied with the way our allocated team of builders took on the project. Their enthusiasm, skill, attention to detail and their input in order to overcome the construction and installation obstacles were very much appreciated. The regular site meetings proved invaluable in overcoming the challenges that presented themselves in this reform. Even when we were not able to be present on site, the communication and contact continued. The job was completed from start to finish in a seamless manner within the expected timescales. All building and site services were provided by Moraira Build. An excellent service.

In summary, we are 100% satisfied with Steven and Moraira Build in the completion and every aspect of this project.
